If things get crazy Friday, you should know how to get the beer out of your carpets!

International Beer Day is coming up, so prep yourself for a beer spot on your carpet. Today, we’ll share a few at-home remedies you can try, just in case things get tipsy!

METHOD 1:

  1. Using paper towels or a light-colored towel, soak up as much beer as you can (as quickly as you can!). This will prevent the beer from really being absorbed into the carpet fibers – which can cause staining.
  2. Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with 2 cups of warm water.
  3. Soak a sponge in your freshly mixed solution and work from the outside of the spot in, blotting the affected area. Gradually, the beer spot should begin to lighten and disappear.
  4. Sponge the carpet with cold water and pat dry using a towel to remove any remaining vinegar.

METHOD 2:

  1. Just like with method 1, clean up as much of the liquid as possible using a dry towel.
  2. Spray Woolite Carpet Spray Cleaner onto the affected area.
  3. Let the solution sit for 10 to 15 minutes, and then dry with a clean towel.
  4. Vacuum the carpet to remove any remaining residue.

Now that you are well-prepared, enjoy your International Beer Day! And as always, contact us today if you have any carpet cleaning, spot, and/or odor removal needs or questions.
