How to get tomato sauce out of your carpet

Mamma Mia! It’s October 17th, which means it is national pasta day! Here’s one way to get spaghetti sauce out of your carpet. But as always, call Artistic Cleaners for professional carpet cleaning services if you think you’ll make it worse.

  1. Using a spoon or knife, carefully remove any remaining tomato sauce on your carpet. Be sure to start from the outside of the spot and work your way in, so it doesn’t spread.
  2. Once all chunks and goops are picked up, pour a generous amount of club soda directly onto the affected area.
  3. Using a damp sponge, firmly press onto the spot to soak up the tomato sauce.
  4. Use a clean paper towel and firmly press down on it to absorb any remaining liquid or tomato sauce residue.
  5. Mix 2 cold cups of water with 1 tablespoon of liquid dish detergent.
  6. Soak a clean cloth or sponge in this solution and blot the affected area.
  7. Rinse the carpet with cold water and pat dry with a clean towel. Once you’ve dried all you can with the towel, allow the area to dry & “breathe” by not covering it up.
