Preparing Your Carpet For International Beer Day – AUGUST 3RD!
If things get crazy Friday, you should know how to get the beer out of your carpets!
International Beer Day is coming up, so prep yourself for a beer spot on your carpet. Today, we’ll share a few at-home remedies you can try, just in case things get tipsy!
METHOD 1:
- Using paper towels or a light-colored towel, soak up as much beer as you can (as quickly as you can!). This will prevent the beer from really being absorbed into the carpet fibers – which can cause staining.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with 2 cups of warm water.
- Soak a sponge in your freshly mixed solution and work from the outside of the spot in, blotting the affected area. Gradually, the beer spot should begin to lighten and disappear.
- Sponge the carpet with cold water and pat dry using a towel to remove any remaining vinegar.
METHOD 2:
- Just like with method 1, clean up as much of the liquid as possible using a dry towel.
- Spray Woolite Carpet Spray Cleaner onto the affected area.
- Let the solution sit for 10 to 15 minutes, and then dry with a clean towel.
- Vacuum the carpet to remove any remaining residue.
Now that you are well-prepared, enjoy your International Beer Day! And as always, contact us today if you have any carpet cleaning, spot, and/or odor removal needs or questions.
